as conduits toward awakening the deepest aspects of our beings.”
~ Richard Speer, art critic, author & curator

About The Work:
Tamara English’s work explores awakening to the divine presence in life, the buoyancy
and resilience that arise through connecting with what has sacred meaning, and the role
of daily spiritual practice in mental and emotional well being. The oil paintings reveal
inner worlds as vibrant landscapes, exploring how our inner realms are like gardens
that can be revitalized and enriched when we are spiritually engaged. Tamara English’s
paintings have been exhibited throughout the US and internationally, including at the
New Orleans Museum of Art, the New York Armory, the Clymer Museum, and the
Seattle Art Museum. She has received grants from the Oregon Arts Commission and
RACC, as well as an award from the Ford Family Foundation. Her paintings appeared
in the television series “Portlandia” and she is featured in the documentary “Art: PDX”
about Portland artists. Her work is widely collected. Visit tamaraenglish.com and
